The Seal we earned. What it means for your bed.
The Good Housekeeping Institute is Good Housekeeping's independent testing and evaluation lab. Since 1909, GHI scientists and engineers have tested products across categories. California Design Den cotton bedding earned the Good Housekeeping Seal — and with it, the backing of Good Housekeeping's limited warranty.
What the Seal means for you
Products that carry the Seal were evaluated by the Good Housekeeping Institute. If a Seal-backed product proves defective within two years of purchase, Good Housekeeping's limited warranty applies.
“If any product that bears our limited warranty Seal proves to be defective within two years from the date it was first sold to a consumer by an authorized retailer, we, Good Housekeeping, will refund the purchase price or $2,000, whichever is less or, at Good Housekeeping's sole discretion, repair or replace the product.”
That's a second promise on top of our own: we will replace the product if any product defect occurs during its normal lifespan.

No. The Seal is earned through Institute evaluation and comes with a limited warranty. The Best Bedding Award is a separate editorial award. Our 400 TC Everyday Ease Sheet Set won the Good Housekeeping Best Bedding Award in 2026 and 2023, and our Egyptian Cotton Sateen won it in 2025.
Yes. California Design Den bedding is tested to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100—every component, including fiber, thread, dye, and finish, is independently tested for more than 100 harmful substances.
